Nile Restoration Market is a floating market on Cairo's Nile waterfront that gives back to the river by planting native aquatic plants, especially papyrus. When the temporary market is dismantled, its planting modules leave the plants rooted in the riverbed and return to a permanent hub for reuse. Papyrus is also made into baskets, paper and other handmade products.
