Round 2 opens a two-month window for questions. From 15 April to 15 June 2026, participants can send their questions about the brief, the site, the deliverables or the rules to the competition’s official e-mail address.
What to ask about
- The brief leaves real decisions to each team, and the question period is the time to clarify them:
- Whether the market is movable or fixed, and what that means for anchoring and circulation on floating platforms
- What the market sells — the brief rules out generic souvenirs
- Water-based structure, stability and safety
- The relationship to Cairo’s riverfront and skyline
- The required outputs, including day and night visualisations
How answers are shared
Updates and clarifications are communicated by e-mail and on the competition’s social channels, so every participant works from the same information. Under the competition terms, participants are responsible for following the updates regularly.
After 15 June
The question period closes on 15 June. Registration continues in stages until 18 August, and the work moves on to the board itself: one landscape A0 board carrying the concept, the site strategy, the drawings and the day and night views.
